There will be an NC Honors Chorus this year in Winston Salem November 4-5, 2023.

You may select which voice part you would like to learn. The practice tracks from NCMEA (the organization holding the event) are available on this website. This website tells you about registration. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THAT. Your teacher (ME) has to register to you, so just look for practice tracks on the website and don't worry about any other information.
Your Sight-reading Factory accounts are still available to you all summer. Please use them and practice anywhere between at Level 4 to Level 5 sight-reading. 20% of the chorus program can be selected by Ms. Patchett to go to the state audition
If selected for State Audition: (outside adjudicator) State Audition (field trip to Fayetteville Sept 28, 2023 1.Sing part of the song (cut not announced until the Sunday night before the audition that week) in your voice part (not memorized) 2. Sing sight-reading example that is equivalent to level 5 in sight-reading factory
IF Selected for NC Honors Chorus: Around 1500 students across the state audition for 176 spots in NC Honors Chorus. If you are selected for NC Honors Chorus you need to be available to Learn 5-7 songs (not memorized), (Mrs Patchett will help but you will work mostly on your own) Go to a rehearsal on Nov. 2 at Enloe HS from 3 pm - 6 pm Go to Honors Chorus Weekend November 5 & 6 in Winston Salem
Cost - there is no cost the student to audition or participate except for paying a $50 (ish) hotel cost for the night you will be in Winston Salem and lunches and dinners while we are there. Do not let this potential hotel cost be a reason you do not audition.
